The run started in Scarborough (just near the Clock Tower) and went along the path to Cave Rock, where we then ran onto the beach and ran back to the start...then did it again.
I'd never run along a beach before and found it much easier than running the path...might add a few beach runs into my training regime now.
Looking around at the other runners...I quickly decided that I was the least athletic looking person there...and quickly worried that I would be coming last. But I kept my feet going...and finished with a pleasing time of 27 mins 54 seconds (with a few people finishing after me too). This is an average run rate of 5.5mins per km (not too shabby!).
Things to do:
1. Get my hip looked at. It was terribly sore again during the run.
2. See what running clinics are available. I need to work on my running technique so I can gain some speed. I think my steps are too small and I run from the wrong part of my foot.
