Over the holidays it became evident that I had more than just a head cold...after a visit to the doctor I learnt that my body was actually trying to fight a viral infection...hence the lack of energy and just wanting to sleep all the time!
Anyway...it seems I have recovered 95% and after a chat with my friend, Sarah L the other day...I realised that the Tai Tapu 15km run is only a week away!!! Goodness!
So this morning I pushed myself to complete a 10km run from my place to Malcolm's place. Luckily the weather conditions were perfect for a run...drizzle...and I managed to complete a persoanl best of 1 hr 6 mins...yay for me!
Let's get back to the Tai Tapu run next week. Over staff drinks I managed to co-erce Juliette (another teacher from school) to run the Tai Tapu run too...Shane (our Principal) said that if we beat our goal he would donate $20 to a charity of our choice. My choice is Westpac Helicopter, as I had to use their services about 9 years ago. I will let you know what Juliette's choice is soon.
However...I have been thinking...Shane let it slip that he had infact been doing some running of his own recently. I challenge Shane to run the 15km race (or the 10km walk) and I will donate $20 to a charity of his choice. What do you say, Shane?

Hey! Glad to hear you are recovered enough to run the race! And with a personal best under your belt as well! Hope the rest of your week goes well!
