I have finally started running again. It has been a VERY long time since I had been for a run, and I have been blaming the earthquake for FAR TOO LONG!!! Since the earthquake I have been comfort eating and sitting....time to move on I say!
So I crawled out of bed at 6am and went for a run. It was a very short run...but boy! was it hard work!?!?! Everyday from now on, until I am feeling comfortable again.
On a much more exciting note...Malc's and my garden is beginning to look fab! Most of all, I am very proud of a netting structure I fashioned all by myself (to keep the birds out of the strawberries). Have a look:

Isn't it fabulous? It does a superb job at keeping the birds out, and it is easy to pick strawberries when they're ready...just life the front side up.

My herb garden has oregano, marjorum, chives, mint, thyme, sage, rosemary, coriander and parsley.

Malc (can you tell???) made this temporary hot house for our tomato plants. Now that the weather is warmer, we have taken away the plastic covering.

Here we have radishes. They are almost ready now. We have also planted carrots with the radishes, so when the radishes are picked, the carrots will begin to come through - how clever is that!

Here we have some silverbeet, cabbages, lettuces, cauliflower and broccoli.

New potatoes - yummy! These have just begun to flower...so we might be having new potatoes for tea tonight....Mmmmmm!
Now on a very sad note....my heart goes out to the miners (and their families and friends) at Pike River (Greymouth) who are trapped underground for 5 days now. I hope rescuers find them safe and sound.
