I am back in CHristchurch after my holiday in Brisbane. I managed to go for a run about 5 times while there (hot...hot...hot!!!!).
I am running most mornings (probably 6 times a week) with some walks as well. I am still struggling to run 5km comfortably - but am sure this will come right soonish. Combined with the struggle, I have a problem with blisters on the ends of my toes. I think this is because my running shoes may be a little to small for me, therefore my toes rub against the end of my shoes. The blisters are not sore...just rather unsightly. So a trip to The Shoe Clinic is on the cards...
I was due to run in one of Sarah Ulmer's SUB races this Sunday (25 January), but have decided I am not ready. That, and it is my dear old Nana's 89th birthday...so I am going to concentrate on training for the Christchurch City to Surf in March. I would like to run it in less than 85 minutes (12km).
I did have a go at the race course at Hagley Park (I spoke of it in one of my earlier posts) and it wasn't too bad...when I could stop a couple of times...a little boring doing a circuit a couple of times, so I eventually left the track and ran round the park a bit...and found an elephant! The circus is currently camping/showing at Hagley Park :)
