Biking...I kinda like it!

I am down in Waimate, visiting my folks for a few days. While here, Mum and Dad's friendly neighbour has lent me her mountain bike (thanks Pauline!). I don't normally like biking (unless there is no wind, it is nice and warm and absolutely no hills!)...but have been thinking lately that biking would make fitness training a little more interesting.
So, today I doned Mum's cycle pants (Mum and Dad biked the Otago Rail Trail a couple of years ago) and promptly covered them with another pair of shorts...and went for a bike ride. While I was a bit nervous about passing traffic - I loved it! I don't own my own bike...but am seriously considering finding one somewhere.
I biked 8km out to the Waimate Roadhouse (now a flash cafe called Nosh) and met some friends who were travelling from Cromwell to Christchurch for a coffee...then cycled back into Waimate after. I can't wait to go on another bike ride tomorrow...though I do have to squeeze in a run too - can't forget about my running, can I?

I have posted a couple of very unflattering photo's. One of them reminds me of when a former student jokingly asked if I was going on holiday because I had packed my bags (referring to the bags under my eyes!!! I'm on holiday - have no idea why I look so tired!)...and the other picture reminds me of that infamous picture of that Somalian woman who hijacked the Blenheim/Christchurch plane - you know the one where half her flabby tummy is hanging out for all to see) - so please - make no comments on the photos).
My new running shoes.
