I decided to do two classes at the gym this morning. Zumba at 9.30, and Pump at 10.30. I get there in time to grab a card for Zumba, and head on upstairs to the group fitness room. When I get there, the instructor is ready to begin and immediately splits us into two groups (divided down the middle of the room) and turns us so each group is facing each other. The instructor stands in the middle of the two groups (usually they would be at the front, so we can see them)...this did not bode well (for me anyway).
When doing zumba, one needs to loosen up, and there is quite a bit of hip shaking etc...this just made me feel quite self-conscious...and it was even worse when I could be seen by the group facing me...it was awful! Plus, the instructor was so short that she couldn't be seen where she was - she should've been at the front! The moves were quite tricky, and I needed to be able to see her properly. So, after 10 minutes...I walked out!
Instead, I went downstairs and spent 35 minutes slogging it out on an a bike...until Pump class. I think I am too conservative to do zumba...will stick to regular earobic type classes instead...unless they have a zumba where all the lights are turned off! Zumba...disco style...that would be good!
