Right-e-o!

Things have settled down since the earthquake, aftershocks are becoming a way of life and I am beginning to sleep through the night again. So it is time to get on with my goals.

My immediate goal is to get rid of my podgy tummy. I think being an O'Neill, I will always have a 'tummy' but at least I can try to lessen the size of it...somehow. I actually don't think it is too bad...people say I am in proportion to my height (so does that just make me a giant then?). But I would like to be able to sit down and not have my tummy puff out in front of me. In the past I have tried several options: cutting out chocolate completely from my diet...I managed this for 13 weeks, but really! Why should I torture myself? I have also tried cutting out carbohydrates and using celebrity slim. This actually worked really well. The first time (about 2 years ago) I lost 12 kg and it was easy. A couple of months ago I tried it again and lost 4.5kg, but it was a lot harder (I blame the time of year...end of winter...and all I really wanted was bangers and mash with heaps of gravy). To do celebrity slim, one must in the 'right frame of mind'...and I'm just not there yet. So...

The biggest change I am going to make is exercise. I am going to keep a diary of how much exercise I do each day. My goal is to do at least 45 mins of exercise a day.

I will eat normally - my usual diet. However, yesterday I ate 3 chocolate bars...in fact I scoffed them down while driving from A to B...do I really need to do that? No...indeed!

So...goal 1 = do more exercise, and goal 2 = make sensible choices about what I eat.

Yesterday I started back at the gym by doing a circuit class in the morning. I also went for a walk in the afternoon. This morning I went for a jog (3.5km)...and I will be going for another walk in the afternoon.

We will see how this goes....

Hey! I am so happy to see you back on here! I am glad (and relieved) to hear the ground is settling somewhat, although I know it will be a long time before things are back to "normal".

Good job with the exercise plan! Winter is rapidly approaching here and we have had nothing but rain for two weeks. The doggies are water logged and less than enthusiastic about going for walks right now. As soon as the snow comes (please may it be soon) we will all be much happier!
