On Thursday I looked after my friends, Cherie and Kurt, little 2 year old, Jade, for the day. We had a fun day baking, doing some errands in town, and some water play. In the afternoon, I popped Jade into her pram and we went walking...for 2 hours!!!! Jade managed to sleep for about half of it.
Yesterday I went to a Step class at the gym...found this very hard going! But in the afternoon my cousin, Nathan, came round after he had finished work, and we went for a walk to the mall for lunch. It is Nathan's goal to become fitter, and he has asked for my help in this. Well....! Yesterday, he thought of every excuse under the sun for why he couldn't possible walk to the Hornby Mall (only about a 15 minute brisk walk away)...but in the end we got there (albeit dwardling). Our good work was shattered though as we succumbed to not only lunch (chinese) but also a coffee and a slab of carrot cake too! Never mind :)
Today...is a much better day! Malcolm and his brother went off to chop down some trees, so I had the morning to myself. I drove over to New Brighton and met Nathan for another walk. This time Nathan was motivated and he even picked our route. We walked up alongside the Avon River until we got to the Christchurch Estuary, and back up Brighton Beach to the Peer...this took us just under 2 hours...brilliant! A beautiful day too. In the photo above, you can see the Avon River in the foreground, and the Estuary. We are so lucky to live in Christchurch, it really is a beautiful city. The picture below is of New Brighton Beach looking towards the Peer.
Later I am going to wander to the mall to buy my weekly lotto ticket...and maybe some groceries (for tea).
